PGA TOUR

SHOTLINK TRUCK

  • 2 Dedicated High-Speed Internet connection to the ShotLink Truck only.
    Minimum specs for these connections should each be 20 down & 5 up. (One of these is a tournament expense, and one is a PGA Tour Expense)

  • 1 Metro Circuit (Ordered by the PGA Tour)
    Your ShotLink Administrator will assist with these lines and circuits. You need to be aware of this circuit order since the local phone company will probably ask you where it should be installed.

WEATHER TRAILER 

One (1) High Speed Internet connection (DSL or Cable Modem). This needs to be a dedicated line to the Weather trailer, it may not be a shared line. This is a PGA TOUR expense.

QUALITY OF DRY PAIR PHONE LINES 

Specification: 32 ohms per 1,000 feet (Cat 2 spec)

The ShotLink system requires a quality high speed network. We have DSL equipment that will utilize the existing dry pair phone lines. In order to minimize any potential problem with these lines, we need to verify their quality meets the Cat 2 specification (Ex: 8,000' should be 270 ohms). The ShotLink administrator will call you to arrange a meeting or conference call with your phone representative.

Your SHOTLink Administrator will assist with the order of dial-up lines with you.

PLAYER LOCKER ROOM

High Speed Internet connection for use with Vonage equipment (provided by the TOUR). There needs to be a wired Internet connection in the Locker Room for the TOUR staff to connect our equipment.

1 Dry Pair line from Truck to Tournament Hospitality Area (optional)
2 Dry Pair lines from Truck to Television Compound (TGC) “MUST BE 2”
1 Dry Pair line from Truck to the TV Booth
2 High Speed Internet connections (one for Administrator and one for Operations Staff)


Note: Cell phones DO NOT meet any of the above requirements.

The trailer is equipped with an easy access panel for the lines to “punch down” directly.
However, the dry pair lines must terminate with modular jacks for computer modems to
plug into them.


All phone lines will be ready for disconnection approximately 2 hours after the tournament
concludes. No telephone technician is required for this procedure.
